Carl Weller created the Weller Electric Company in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1945 with the creation of the soldering weapon. He sought a way to support the rapidly increasing radio repair sector. The very first iron was created in 1950 and the first iron was afterwards soldered in 1976 with a regulated temperature. Weller went to Europe in 1959. Throughout its existence Weller has produced forward-looking products for the consumer and industry sectors. Weller's dedication to technology is demonstrated by a seven-person R&D team, which has many patents and honors its name. Weller University in Apex, North Carolina, launched a training center in 2007. Over 100 people are taught every year.
